THANKSGIVING

Today is Thanksgiving with my mom. I am glad for the holidays but I think they should be spread out more throughout the year. Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas just seem to close. I would like to see an extra month in between each.

We went to the Columbus Clippers game a couple days ago and it was a great time. After the game we got to go out and run the bases, and then we went out on the field and played catch. It was neat. The girls really enjoyed it. I am going to miss going when they get the new stadium built. It just won't be the same without the "coop"! I hope we get to go to at least one more game this year!

NATIONWIDE INSURANCE

Be careful leaving Target parking lot. We were leaving Target parking lot and some girl was cutting through the parking lot and t-boned my car. That was pretty crazy. We never even seen it coming. That might have been a good thing though. Now we are waiting on Nationwide insurance to do the right thing. I don't know whos side Nationwide is on, but it sure isn't mine!!

SAD

I WAS HOPING TO DO A LOT OF WRITING ABOUT THE REDS THIS YEAR, BUT THERE ISN'T MUCH TO SAY. THEY ARE NOT HAVING A GOOD YEAR AGAIN! MY DAD WENT TO SEE THE GAME TODAY AND THE BEST NEWS HE WILL HAVE IS JOEY VOTTO HIT A HOMERUN IN A LOSING EFFORT. I STILL THINK THEY NEED TO BRING UP JAY BRUCE FROM THEIR TRIPLE A TEAM, LOUISVILLE. HE COULD NOT DO MUCH WORSE THEN COREY PATTERSON HAS DONE TO START THE YEAR. I WAS GLAD TO SEE JOSH FOGG OUT OF THE STARTING ROTATION AND MATT BELISLE RETURNING. HOPEFULLY HE WILL GET IT DONE FOR THE REDS. LATER!!

WHAT'S UP?

HELLO, IT HAS BEEN AWHILE. NOTHING MAJORLY NEW IS GOING ON HERE. I AM JUST TRYING TO KEEP UP WITH ALL OF THE SPRING TRAINING NEWS. HOW BOUT THOSE GIANTS? I WAS GLAD TO SEE ELI WIN THE BIG ONE. HOPEFULLY HE CAN DO IT AGAIN WITHIN THREE OR FOUR YEARS. I HOPE ALEX SMITH CAN TAKE THE NINERS THERE THIS YEAR! NASCAR HAS STARTED AND I AM HAPPY THAT ROUSH-FENWAY RACING HAS WON HALF OF THE RACES SO FAR! I HOPE THEY CAN KEEP IT UP! WELL I'LL SIGN OFF FOR NOW, LATER!!!!!!!!!!

CINCINNATI REDS

The Reds have signed young 1st base prospect Joey Votto to a 1 year deal! It looks like they are going in the right direction. They need to get Griffey traded back to Seattle for some draft picks and they would have a fighting chance. Griffey would also wrap up his career as a dh, where he started it! Then they could get Jay Bruce called up. Later!!!

TROUBLE

My girls got the game "trouble" for Christmas and I think that is all we do. We average five to seven games a day. I found an old aggravation game that my grandparents gave to me years ago. We ended up playing one game and went back to trouble. Well I better go the girls want to play a game, I bet I know what it is!!!

SPORTS

Give it up for O.J. Simpson. What an idiot!! He managed to get his bail doubled. Maybe he needs to get Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson to campaign for him.
The Cav's got a good night from Lebron last night! 51 points. I wish he would speed on the court every game like that. He is a pimp. I would like to see the Cavalier's bring in some help for him. He will never win a championship by himself. Later!!!

COLD!!!!

This weekend is suppose to be 18 saturday and 20 degrees sunday. Burr!!! I don't mind the snow but I want it warmer then that. Wednesday is going to be the warmest day this week at a high of 39. With lows in the teens, and single digits this weekend, I hope everyone stays warm. Now would be a good time to change your furnace filter if you have not done it lately! Later!!!

75%

I had three games with the point spreads right! I guess now I am going to have to hope the Giants win it all. Later!!

MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL

February is approaching fast. Along with it comes nascar and baseball. Feb. 14 is the first voluntary report date for spring training. I am ready! Will the Indians go to the series? Can the reformed Reds take it all? Is A-Rod going to dominate then lay down in the post season or will he lay down all season since he signed a new contract? Who knows, there are many scenarios. I know one thing for sure though, I am ready!!! Later!!

FOOTBALL

Well so far I picked one winner. I had the Packers by 7. They won by 22! Brett Favre did pretty good winning and now they are heading into the NFC title game. I will go early and pick the Colts for the AFC winners. The super bowl will be the Colts versus the Packers with the Colts winning it all! Later!!!

NFL PLAYOFFS

The playoffs are amongst us. This is the part where I actually will pick my winners. Seeing how my favorite team, San Francisco, is not in the playoffs, I would usually show an Ohio allegiance. Considering the fact that the Bengals or that other team is not in the playoffs, it is a tough decision. I will have to go with the Indianapolis Colts as they are lead by a former Tennesee Volunteer, Peyton Manning. Here are my picks for each of this weekend's games;

SEATTLE VS GREEN BAY PACKERS BY 7 POINTS

JACKSONVILLE VS NEW ENGLAND PATS BY 10 POINTS

SAN DIEGO VS INDIANAPOLIS COLTS BY 14 POINTS

NEW YORK VS DALLAS GIANTS BY 3 POINTS

SPORTS

The Buckeyes lost another one. The only regret I have is that it wasn't Tennesee who beat them. I think the Buckeyes did really good basically on a rebuilding year. Hopefully 2009 they will be national champs once again.

How about Rich "Goose" Gossage getting elected to the baseball hall of fame? I think that is really cool. He was a heck of a relief pitcher. It is good to see guys like that get in there. Next year will the time for the career steals leader, Rickey Henderson! I hope he gets in the first time on the ballot. I liked to watch him. He was so fast he could turn the light off and be in bed before the room got dark. I would bet that at 48 years old he is just as quick as todays top steals leaders. Minus the roids that is!!

Speaking of roids, what is going on with Clemens. Nice phone conversation he taped. All I heard was a non denial, denial. It is either a yes or no, Rocket! Later!!!

BCS CHAMPIONSHIP

What is going on with the Bucks? They have just given up 24 unanswered points! It isn't even half time. Why can't they beat an sec team in a bowl game? If they don't do something they are heading for an 0-9 record against sec teams in bowl games. Everyone praises Tressel because he can beat Michigan, who cares win a championship again!!!!! We'll see if he can even beat Michigan in four years whan Rodriguez has his recruits playing! Later!!!!

GASOLINE

Gas prices are crazy around here, averaging $3.14 a gallon. Yet I can drive ten miles down the road to the truck stop and get it for $2.89 a gallon. You would think that someone who owns a gas station in Newark would be smart enough to lower there prices a five to ten cents a gallon and take all of the business in town. Oh well they know we need it and they want to screw everyone they can to make a profit! It's probably safe to say people who are working minimum wage jobs are probably spending half of there per hour earnings for gas to get back and forth to work! That is how life goes. Thank your politicians, later!!!

CRAZY WEATHER

It is 16 degrees out and monday it is suppose to be 50 degrees. We all will be sick. I just shoveled my side walk and it feels colder than 16. I wish it would stay between 45-70 degrees all year round. I am ready for some hot chocolate with marshmallows. Later!!

2008

Hello, hello, hello! 2008 is here. Think about that while you are writing a check. It is very cold here in Newark. It is currently 28 degrees out. We ran out to target and I think I froze! I thought there would be a lot more people out but they must all be hung over. Today is a good day to hit the stores, because none of the ones we passed were very busy. Even the mall had very few cars in the parking lot. Later!!
